Google AdWords Tools Everyone Should Know and Use

So you’ve started a campaign on Google AdWords. Now what? Google has some great free tools available in AdWords to take your campaigns to the next level – and make them easier to manage!

My Client Center

Do you manage multiple accounts? If you answered yes then I hope you have signed up for a My Client Center (MCC) account. And if you haven’t yet, well, you’re making your life more difficult than it needs to be. A MCC account allows advertisers, agencies, large organizations and others handled many accounts easily in one location.

View and log in into all of your accounts from one username and one dashboard.

 AdWords Editor

This amazing free tool should be downloaded by anyone who manages a large number of accounts. AdWords Editor can save you time when you need to make small or big edits to an account. Some of the features I really enjoy:

  • Working offline
  • Adding, editing, and deleting campaigns, ad groups, and keywords
  • Making large changes like moving keywords from one campaign to another

Opportunities Tab

Sometime we need help coming up with new ideas for account. That’s where the opportunities tab comes in. The opportunities tab can help you discover new keyword and budget ideas to improve your account.

My Change History Tool

I really like this tool. We are always testing new ad copy, bids, and keywords. My Change History Tool will let me review the changes I or anyone else made that effected the account.

Placement Tools

There are two tools that will help you control where your ads show on the Google Search and Display Networks:

  • The Site and Category Exclusion Tool: If you want to exclude your ads from displaying a specific site or a group of sites related to specific category use this tool.
  • The IP Address Exclusion Tool: If you have a specific IP address that you don’t want your ads to display on then use this tool. You can exclude up to 100 IP addresses per campaign.

 Display Ad Builder

If you don’t have the budget or the time to create engaging users, try out the Display Ad Builder. It allows you to create and customize display ads with little effort. It’s really simple.

  • You can find it within your account under the new ads tab.
  • Then you can choose a template and customize the fonts, image, background, colors and text.
  • Google will format your ad into all ad sizes.
